To outpace the rat race

When I, as a young hopeful graduate, started my career at Lego, I daily passed the “Hall of Fame” on my way to the canteen. Rows of portraits of colleagues who had achieved 15th and 25th anniversaries adorned the wall. The reality today is that very few people are going to celebrate their 25+ year anniversary in the same company. Both companies’ average life expectancy is declining and our loyalty to employers is declining as well.

To be a “boomer” AND feel a huge responsibility

My son regularly chooses to let the expression “boomer” mark the end of an exchange of views. He is 21, on his way through the education system and hopeful for the future – thankfully. Boomer as a concept has evolved from being a mass term for the generation born before the mid-60s to summarizing an explosive exchange of views between generations. But it is also a concept that gives food for thought.
